Ngāti Maniapoto chiefs, 1885, photographed by Alfred Henry Burton

While travelling through the King Country in 1885, Alfred Burton photographed six chiefs of Ngāti Maniapoto. From left in the back row are Rewi Manga Maniapoto, Tāwhana Tīkaokao, Taonui Hīkaka and Hōne Wētere Te Rerenga. Te Rangituataka is seated at left, and Te Naunau Hīkaka at right.
