In the 2007 documentary Māori and tennis: acing it at 80 Ruia Morrison (Te Arawa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) recalls how childhood activities influenced her tennis career. Morrison was the first New Zealand woman to play at Wimbledon, reaching the last 16 in 1957. She won 13 national (including six singles) titles.
