Geoff Murphy's explosive 'puha western', Utu, was set during the land wars of the 1860s and shot on the central North Island's volcanic plateau. It uses this region's spectacular scenery to full effect as a setting for large-scale battle scenes, and to emphasise the different worlds of its Pākehā and Māori characters. The film was released in 1983, and recut in an enhanced version in 2013. This is the trailer for the 2013 Utu redux.
