Soldier settlement: land at Tāpapa (1st of 3)

This 1917 Lands and Survey map depicts a block of land for sale or lease to returning veterans of the First World War. It shows the proposed Tāpapa settlement near Tīrau, between Hamilton and Rotorua. Returned soldiers' settlements such as this were intended to provide both financial support and rehabilitation for traumatised veterans.
