Exhibitions were a profitable avenue for stimulating demand for furniture, and the big furniture warehouses competed with lavish room displays. This is part of the furniture court (right side of aisle) at the 1906–7 New Zealand International Exhibition at Christchurch. At bottom right is a display of office furniture. The Archbold's display (above) includes chairs, tables and phonographs.
