Customers in a grocery store, Arapuni

By the 1940s the shopping for groceries was much the same experience as it had been for decades. Although the grocers here are more casually dressed than those from the past, all of the goods are still out of reach but clearly within view on the open shelves behind the counter. All of this was soon to change with the introduction of supermarkets.
