School uniforms, 1966

The gym frock, worn by these Foxton school girls in 1966, became the standard girls' school uniform from the First World War onwards. By the time this photo was taken, gym frocks were making their exit in favour of kilts and simpler tunics. The boys' uniform would not be out of place in the 21st century.
