First wearable arts show, 1987

The Chez Elco Wearable Art Awards – which becaume the world-renowed World of WearableArts (WOW) started off in Nelson in 1987. While the avant-garde nature of the 1987 entries are highlighted in this television clip, they are a world away from the extravagant creativity on show at WOW in the 2000s.
